The home: the privileged space of Algerian literature between male and female writing
Keywords:
Algerian literature, space, house, male, femaleAbstract
: In this article, we interrogate some Algerian French-language literary works on the notion of the
space of the home. Our aim is to demonstrate whether the writing of the home space by women and men
differs from that of men. Our choice is focused on Algerian works, namely « La grande maison » of
Mohammed Dib, « La maison andalouse » of WaciniLaredj translated by Marcel Blois, « Nulle part dans la
maison de monpère » of Assia Djebar and « Un concert à Cherchell » of Nora Sari.
