Abstract

This article sets the goal of analyzing the construction of the public image of an instance of
power when celebrating a social event. The analysis that we propose concerns a presidential address and
targets the identification of the procedures of marking and masking of its subjectivity in an axiologized
discourse as well as its argumentative action to construct its identity and representations
