Compte Rendu De L'ouvrage "sociolinguistique Du Maghreb" D'ibtissem Chachou

Abstract

By approaching the “Sociolinguistics of the Maghreb”, as a teaching material aiming to make
acquire the fundamental theoretical and methodological tools to the students to enable them to apprehend
the facts of language in Maghrebian plurilingual context in their complexity , the author discusses the main
factors related to historical contexts, linguistic choices and linguistic policies which explain the differences
and the similarities which link the Maghreb countries and make them specific areas for investigation. Ibtissem
Chachou explains that she pays particular attention to the Algerian situation insofar as the learners do their
research from the context in which they evolve. Doctoral students will also find elements of contextualization
necessary for their research in the teaching of languages and cultures and in discourse analysis.
