Du stéréotype au préjugé : la brachylogie au ban de la rhétorique
From stereotype to prejudice : brachylogy shunned by rhetoric
Keywords:
Brachylogy, brevity, discourse, prejudice, writingAbstract
Stereotype can be a factor of prejudice and contribute to the devaluation or even the disqualification
of the person or object concerned by stereotypy, just as prejudice can also lead to the freezing of a stereotype.
Therefore, dismantling the doxa through paradox and not replacing one stereotype with another turns out to
be a priority approach. However, this is what can be observed for brachylogy by passing from the field of
linguistics, rhetoric and stylistics that share it to the less restrictive field of poetics and by following a path
that leads from the trope or rhetorical figure to the more open study of what is a brachylogical writing crossing
the brief manner that characterizes brevity.
