Structuration d’une doxa tensive à partir de la représentation stéréotypée de l’Islam dans Soumission de Michel Houellebecq
Structuring of a tensive doxa based on the stereotypical representation of Islam in Soumission by Michel Houellebecq

Our contribution wants to be a try of analysis of what appears to us to be a generating process
of some intercommunity tensions in France. This in the dystopic novel of Michel Houellebecq published
into 2015 and entitled in reference to Islam Soumission. It seems to us that this novel contributes to the
structuring of a doxa, of a common thought, of a majority spirit, based on a largely stereotypical basis.
We try to show that Michel Houellebecq prolongs at the fictitious level the negative stereotypes which
structure the vision of French of their fellow-citizens of Moslem origin. Negative vision which can only
poke the tensions and which the events of summer 2023 around the Nahel business showed the extent.
