Abstract : Taunted by the story of her grandparents, Kaouther Adimi publishes Au vent Mauvais which tracks down the ''earthquake'' suffered by Tarek and Leïla, slandered and unfairly humiliated by the publication of a novel written by their childhood friend. This renowned writer recounts their life that the whole village remembers, as the details abound. Thus, the painful past of the protagonist resurfaces, giving rise to gossip, humiliations, and other joyfulness. We explore the metafictional aspect of the book and the “character-person” links. Then, we are interested in the writer's accountability, his freedom of creation and the power of the written words. Keywords : Metafiction, freedom and creation, violence of the text, humiliation, patriarchy, gender stereotype.
