Polyphonic scenography and reading posture in Hôtel Saint-Georges by Rachid Boudjedra
Keywords:
polyphony, value, family universe, incompleteness, empathic mobility.Abstract
The Hôtel Saint-Georges is a novel where each chapter constitutes the statement of a character.
As such and because it contains different types of discourse carried by a multiplicity of voices, and because it
is based on heterogeneity and incompleteness, we conclude that the scenography is that of polyphony.
Between individual and collective, family stories and the world of war, the tensions manifested in the
intertwining of voices encourage us to identify the moral and ideological significance of each person's words.
Which leads us to consider trying to detect the voices and positions of the author behind those of his
characters. Examining this aspect leads to adopting the concept of empathic mobility proposed by Alain
Rabatel which makes it possible to conceive of varied positions of the author to account for the complexity
and ambivalence of a universe very close to reality and the truth, a position that the reader will undoubtedly
adopt absract must be representative of te full article, so true to the content.
