This article aims to emphasize the obsessive nature of Rachid Boudjedra’s writing, which appears to
serve as a cathartic process and a phantasmagorical expression of the writer’s traumas. Il also seeks to
examine the juxtaposition of history and fiction within his two novels, The Funerals and The Dispossession,
which expand upon the author’s self. How does the author incorporate historical references from collective
memory into the fiction? We will endeavor to identify signs of personal myth within the fiction, which seems
to be an extension of his previous writings. The prolific nature of his writing is characterized by the thematic
of death and the redundancies that contribute to subversion. How does the formal and moral transgression
evident in Rachid Boudjedra’s fiction impact his reputation within the literary world?
