L’échec amphibologique dans La patrie ou la mort : une stipulation théâtrale de la restauration de l’héroïsme et des politiques émancipatrices africaines
Amphibological failure in La patrie ou la mort : a theatrical stipulation for the restoration of heroism and the politics of african emancipation
Keywords:
Amphibological failure, theatrical stipulation, restoration, heroism, African emancipatory politicsAbstract
The aim of this article is to highlight the amphibological nature of failure and its ideological modalities in the play La patrie ou la mort by Senegalese playwright Mamadou Traoré Diop. The bipolar determinants of the heroes' failure and the dramatic repercussions they cause have made it possible to highlight the subversive and amphibological nature of failure. Sometimes negative, sometimes positive, failure essentially appears as an ambivalent, equivocal notion. Amphibious failure thus becomes an ideological operator in the restoration of heroism and the politics of African emancipation.
