L’éthos en narration autobiographique post-traumatique
Ethos in post-traumatic autobiographical narration
Keywords:
Trauma, Autobiographical story, Psychological portrait, Ethos, motional valenceAbstract
The student speakers in our study’s autobiographical speeches discuss writing about oneself and using language to express the suffering caused by a traumatic event. Two years after the events, we examine the written testimony to account for their emotional valence, relying on the theory of enunciation and the analysis of speech in the context of emotional cognition. A strong discursive ethos is shown in the topic and that preserves the trauma’s consequences.
