Abstract

This reflection revolves around onomastics and the proper name shared by two narrative instances. Indeed, in The Prayer of Fear, two individuals who share the first name of Hanan inhabit the narration to explore the Algerian space in a context of fratricidal war. In addition, this research work aims to exploit the problem of otherness and the (re)knowledge of the Self through the Other in a common onomastic perspective. The challenge is to see in a certain narrative and identity confusion of the heroines a continuity of the individual history of each of them referring to the collective history of the Algerian people.
