Abstract

The use of images in human discourse, from cave paintings to digital technographisms, reflects a deeply rooted historical practice. This study highlights the evolution of visual expression, revealing a constant inclination toward aesthetics and rhetoric. The findings indicate that this evolution follows a slow yet inevitable progression, driven by humanity's attachment to the aesthetic and rhetorical power of images. Digital technology has thus marked a genuine 'pictorial turn,' making images essential to communication.
