Abstract

The article explores how Miguel de Cervantes used his captivity in Algiers and his stay in Oran in 1581 to write"The Gallant Spaniard. Oran becomes a key theatre of conflict between conflicts between Spain and the Muslim world in the 16th century. The work is divided into three days, which deal with bravery, liberation and justice, reflecting the tensions of the time and the tensions of the time and Cervantes' personal experiences.
