Generic hybridity through resorting to myths in leclezian writing
Abstract
:The present work proposes to question Le Clézio's writing through the genres employed in it in order
to determine the process of integration of the "myth" at different levels in two novels by J.M.G Le Clézio:
namely Almaand Ourania. This dialogue between myth and reality generates a decompartmentalization of the
narrative and generic structure on several levels; it results in a plural writing marked by generic hybridity.By
reference to ancestral myths, and through the properties of the travel narrative, Le Clézio proposes a journey
through time, cultures and continents, giving rise to a generic hybridity
