The Arabic intertext in Rachid Boudjedra's novels, or rewriting as a way/voice to liberate speech and thought

The intertext constitutes a determining component of the novelistic work of Rachid Boudejdra. The
novelist integrates into his fiction the entire universal literary tradition ranging from Antiquity to the New
Novel. Writing thus becomes a rewriting, a reinvestment of the texts read which fuel his subversive vision of
reality. Indeed, meaning thus emanates from the dialogue between the text and the off-text, a dialogue that
is then enabled by the intertext. We will thus see how the use of the Arabic intertext fits into a writing
strategy which aims to account, on the one hand, for the complexity of reality through an aesthetic of the
heterogeneous and, on the other hand , a critical and subversive vision nourished by the invocation of
dissident voices who delight in contesting single thought and norms of all kinds.
