Comprendre la mort à travers l’album jeunesse : une approche entre éthos, aathos et logos
Understanding death through children's picture books: an approach through ethos, pathos, and logos
Keywords:
Children’s literature, death, ethos, pathos, logosAbstract
Children’s literature helps young readers understand death through narratives adapted to their sensitivity. This study examines picture books on grief through ethos (narrator’s credibility), pathos (expression of emotions), and logos (rational explanation). Books such as La Croûte (2009) and Au revoir Maman (2016) allow children to verbalize their grief and comprehend life’s cycle. These works promote
resilience and intergenerational dialogue, transforming a taboo subject into a space for learning and support.
