This article examines the role that bilingual children's literature can play in the skills’ development of primary school children, taking into consideration a particular context where reading practices have been established for almost two decades. It presents the results of a survey conducted among teachers and volunteers enrolled in the project " Notre école, faisons-là ensemble ". The survey, which is based on semi- directed interviews, showed that children's literature can be reinvented in order to motivate learners and their parents to become reading subjects. It also showed that using children's literature in a different way allows teachers to develop professional skills through reflexivity.
