As we read the novel of DanyLaferrière, L’énigme du retour (2009), one observation is necessary : this text whose presented like a self-narrative is a both an autobiography and a fiction. The narrator wich name is Dany, after a long time in Canada, returns in his country, Haiti, who no longer recognizes him. Without surprise, to find his place in the bosom in his native land, there is only one solution; identify himself with a mythical character, the perfect foreigner, who merges with nature, Dionysus, of course. Wanting be the nature god’s double explains the chaos characterizing the texte.
