Abstract

his review of Aoua Bocar LY-Tall's book, Cheikh Anta Diop, l’humain derrière le savant (Cheikh Anta Diop, the man behind the scholar), is intended as a tribute to a giant of African culture, a man who devoted his entire life to promoting a new vision for the African continent. This man was Cheikh Anta Diop, who worked and fought on a scientific level to demystify the discourse constructed by the colonialist West about Africans and their history with the aim of facilitating the predation and exploitation of their wealth.
