Interview with the intellectual Ahmed CHENIKI
Abstract
The Algerian Journal of letters dedicates, in this issue, an interview to Professor Ahmed Cheniki, an
intellectual that the review wanted to make discover to the whole scientific community. He loves journalism,
a profession that he has transformed into a passion and to which he has given his finest letters of nobility; he
loves the theater, a passion born since adolescence and to which he has dedicated an unparalleled
commitment. He was a professor of literature at the university but the absence of scientific criticism, the
place currently occupied by social sciences and literature, the disappearance of debates and exchanges of
yesteryear, have pushed him to retire.
Professor Cheniki is an intellectual, a thinker, a prolific writer and a man of culture that the Algerian
university and the world of culture must know better, would gain enormously to read and question especially
since the areas he invests are multiple and that his culture is open to the world
