Abstract

In our time, where the notion of “complexity” is a major challenge for humanities and social science, some semioticians are tempted by the development of an interdisciplinary semiotics under the anthropological “bricolage”, while others are easily seduced by its interdisciplinary character and metadisciplinary . Nevertheless, some semiotic analysis of advertising Yves Rocher, we found that decide the suitable term to define the boundaries of this science of meaning in the vast scientific field is far from being a risky business due to is at the crossroads of conflicting ideologies of its researchers. Our research aims precisely to disambiguate terms of interdisciplinarity, transdisciplinarity and metadisciplinarity used interchangeably to describe the contemporary semiotics. The essential problem of its future in the age of new humanism is: Does semiotics guard its intellectual totalitarianism and his desire to transcend the human and social sciences after its fragmentation into sub-disciplines?
