Abstract

The recognition of linguistic and cultural diversity, in the terms of Council of Europe Conventions,
has given birth to a new discipline that brings multilingualism, culture and interculturality side by side. It
pertains to multilingual and intercultural education, which aims to facilitate social cohesion in multilingual
groups.
In this work, we adopt the same perspective as that of Daniel Coste and Jean-Claude Beacoo who have
contributed to face the major challenge encountered by teachers, who attempt to manage their teaching
practices in consideration of cultural and linguistic changes. This would apparently best help equip learners
with more efficient language and intercultural skills that allow them to behave effectively as citizens, to
acquire knowledge and know oneself better as well as to develop positive open-mindedness towards
otherness
