Discursive layers in children’s picture books: a multilevel semiolinguistic analysis
Keywords:
Children’s picture books, semiolinguistics, iconotext, philosophical discourse, ideologyAbstract
This article conducts a multilevel semiolinguistic analysis of Black Wolf by Antoine Guilloppé and The Little Prince by Saint-Exupéry, seeking to uncover the discursive layers imbued with philosophical and ideological markers. Through an empirical corpus study, it examines how text-image interplay and textual ellipsis craft a bifocal narrativity, prompting young readers toward metaphysical and ethical contemplation. Leveraging the concepts of iconotext and fragmented narrativity, this research unveils the ontological and
axiological depth of these works, fostering the child’s identity and cognitive development.
