Children’s literature often reproduces social patterns. It narrates generic archetypes that represent symbols of social domination, particularly based on gender, as seen notably in Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. These stories revolve around symbolic representations inherited from patriarchal cultures, thereby conveying a very specific female identity framework. This article examines modern versions of these two texts, focusing on the processes of subversion and transgression through the establishment of new archetypes
