Abstract

This study explores the challenges of media translation in the context of global events and artificial intelligence, through a comparative analysis of human and machine translation. Based on media coverage of Queen Elizabeth II’s death, it highlights linguistic, stylistic, and cultural divergences. The findings underline the limitations of AI in capturing implicit cultural meaning, emphasizing the essential role of humanmediation for accurate and nuanced communication
