Keywords:
Specialized translation, artificial intelligence, intercultural mediation, automation, professional ethics.Abstract
Specialized translation is being profoundly transformed by artificial intelligence. This study analyzes how translators balance automation and cultural sensitivity. Based on interviews with translators conducted in Aïn Témouchent, Oran, and Tlemcen, we have identified three current translator profiles: the language technician, the cultural guardian, and the hybrid mediator. We will also address the ethical dilemmas posed by the use of AI. The research offers a critical view of the translator’s current role. In conclusion, we highlight the need to combine technological competence with intercultural mediation
