Abstract

Duringthis interview, the eminentlinguist Françoise Gadet questions the notions of linguistic variation and the sociolinguistics of language, by examining the variousmodalities of use of a single language. Shealsorethinks the epistemological hiatus betweentwotraditionallycompartmentalizedfields, linguistics and sociolinguistics. Shealso exposes the articulation between society and the educational institution, consideredfrom a sociodidactic perspective. Finally, shediscusseslinguistic uses within a digital ecology, whereshesees possible new momentum and new perspectives.
